About The Event

We train and certify by the use of the world's best professional negotiation methods COOPERATION PRACTITIONER (9d) and NEGOTIATION FACILITATOR (16d) in order to use these tools and essential skills to achieve equally good substantive success and sustainable, human relationships as well as to efficiently design processes.

On June 3, 2024, we are launching the 10th certified NEGOTIATION FACILITATOR program, the only one of its kind in the world for negotiation professionals. It builds on the highest academic standards and brings individual practice to perfection based on personal experience. The Vienna School toolkit includes, for example, Harvard Interest-Based Negotiation, the Process Communication Model® (PCM), Leading Out of Drama® (LOD) with Compassionate Accountability™ and other innovative methods.

This Negotiation Facilitator is designed in cooperation with Andreas Kovar and focuses on political cooperation, i.e. we particularly invite those active in politics and people in corporate management, supervisory boards and those responsible for public affairs in companies, as well as interested parties from associations, interest groups, NGOs and experts in public administration.

Before the program start, we evaluate your resilience as a negotiator together using the Negotiator Agility Assessment (NAA).

The NAA is based on your personal Drama Resilience Assessment and your PCM Personality Profile. It addresses the use of your talents, your ability to deal with conflict and your understanding of negotiation situations. Gain clarity in advance about your suitability as a Negotiation Facilitator.

The Negotiation Facilitator includes 16 days in 5 modules and an additional 4 days of peer groups, supervision, case studies and the study of specialist literature. As part of the hands-on transfer, you and experienced practitioners from the world of politics bring in concrete real-life situations right from the start. To ensure the greatest possible practical transfer, the content is tailored and builds on each other. Here is a brief overview:

  • Module 1: June 3 - 5, 2024 :: 3 days :: Kick off the learning journey, political decision-making processes & the human side of negotiation: The Process Communication Model® including individual PCM profile :: Communication, motivation and interventions in the event of miscommunication

:: SELECTION OF THE VIENNA SCHOOL TOOLKIT

HARVARD INTEREST-BASED NEGOTIATIONS (FISHER, URY, PATTON)

Negotiating means - beyond rigid positions - satisfying as many of your own interests and the most important interests of other parties as possible.

By understanding and incorporating the interests of the other side, communicating clearly and purposefully and developing a broader understanding of process design, you will achieve improved substantive results and cooperative working relationships with negotiating partners in your professional and personal life.

Interest-based negotiation according is a method developed by Prof. Roger Fisher and his team at Harvard Law School, which is continuously being updated and further developed by the Vienna School of Negotiation. Interest-based negotiation is designed for people in the field, offers simple techniques and clear strategies with the aim of making negotiation processes efficient, finding innovative solutions and developing personal communication skills.

THE PROCESS COMMUNICATION MODEL® (KAHLER)

PCM is a comprehensive communication and management model developed by Dr. Taibi Kahler for everyday professional and private life. It provides a quick insight into one's own personality architecture and communication patterns as well as personal success and failure factors in communication.

We can use the recognizable strengths of the different personality types in us not only for ourselves, but also for shaping relationships and effective cooperation. Your individual PCM Personality Architecture serves as a point of reflection for practical application.

LEADING OUT OF DRAMA® with COMPASSIONATE ACCOUNTABILITY™ (KARPMAN; REGIER)

Based on Stephen Karpman's Drama Triangle model, the compassionate mindset offers effective tools for resolving interpersonal conflict and many opportunities for self-awareness. It reduces negative drama in both professional and personal life. You will learn to identify situations that create negative drama and make innovative decisions through positive change using the Compassion Cycle. This will help you to achieve committed goals within your team.

HALTUNG ENTSCHEIDET - Stages of Ego Development (PERMANTIER, COOK-GREUTER)

Negotiators need the ability to take a multi-perspective. This ability requires more mature, post-conventional stages of ego development. Permantier's model of the 6 attitudes helps us to locate ourselves and others in our own perceptual capacity and to identify steps for further development.

Shadow work in a safe space creates reference experiences and provides access to higher levels of ego development.

Negative parts of the self and paradoxes can then be better integrated, enabling more diverse, creative approaches to solutions in complex negotiation situations. Looking at where things are not going so well and actively dealing with them - this work is essential for negotiation professionals.

TRI-ENERGETICS (MOORE, MARSHALL)

In the 1980s, Rickie More, Ph.D. and Henry Marshall, Ph.D., two clinical psychologists, developed Tri-Energetics (TE). TE represents an integrative approach that assumes that body, mind and soul are one unit. The TE formula is an effective tool for simplifying relationships and situations and, in practice, aims for personal responsibility in groups and inner peace.

In every negotiation, clear intentions, consideration of human needs and clear communication are essential for sustainable success. With the "Playshop - Negotiating with Body and Soul", we are following in the tradition of the "TE Playshops", which have been taking place throughout Europe since 1982. Even in the most difficult situations, humor and intuition open up new scope.
